Gulfstream

Race 1

#4 Jost Sayin (6-1) narrowly missed when finishing second as the favorite over a mile at this level last month in her first start for trainer David. Dark bay has hit the board in five of 10 outings on grass and David has won with 20% of his runners at this meet. With plenty of early pace signed on here, 5-year-old can be along in time with Gaffalione up.

Race 3

Trainer Kurtinecz wins with 14% of her first-time starters and saddles #2 Nit Pick (15-1), a debuting son of decent turf sprint sire Awesome of Course. Gelding is a half-brother to three winners and works include a 3-furlong move in a sharp :36 4/5 last month for Kurtinecz, who has won with 10% of runners this meet. Chestnut appears live with Lopez named to ride.

Race 5

A competitive field of maidens on the turf going a mile include #8 El Scorcho (12-1), who will get blinkers added off a never-threatening unplaced effort in a maiden special weight event over the course and distance in her debut in December. Daughter of Empire Maker posted a solid 4-furlong work in :47 3/5 on grass early this month for trainer Servis, who wins with 20% of his runners that have not raced for 90 days or more. Another with claims may be #6 Marais (10-1), a debuting daughter of 13% turf sire Broken Vow who is from a strong female family. Chestnut has been working well for trainer Casse, who wins with 17% of his first-time starters and filly is worth a look with Zayas taking the mount.

Race 10

An expected fast early tempo may set up well for a runner from off the pace in this competitive 5-furlong allowance on the grass. #7 Sarasota County (10-1), a son of excellent turf sprint sire Kantharos, closed to narrowly miss when second over the course and distance last month in his first outing since October. Trainer Hickey won with four of his last 17 runners second time off a layoff and lightly-raced 5-year-old can be along late with Bravo in the irons.

Oaklawn

Race 2

#5 Neverblink (8-1) may have needed his latest when weakening to finish fourth after dueling for the early lead at Turfway last month, being his first outing since his debut last May. Winner of that event won an allowance next out and son of Orb is a half-brother to three winners, including Really Sharp, who won the Vigil (G3). 3-year-old makes his first start for trainer Richard, who has won with 18% of runners since the beginning of last year, and colt can be tough facing maiden claiming company for the first time.

Race 6

Sprinters going 6 furlongs include #7 Daaherachel (7-2), who faded to finish unplaced after leading early over 5 1/2 furlongs on turf at Fair Grounds in his latest last month. Daughter of Daaher has won three of 13 starts on dirt and makes his first outing for trainer Kenny Smith. Chestnut figures to be the speed in here under Birzer, who has won with 10% of rides for the barn in the last two months.

Race 7

Trainer Amoss wins with 23% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and saddles #7 Charlie’sarchangel (3-1), who has not been seen since finishing second as the favorite over the track and distance in mid-February. 4-year-old has won four of 18 career starts and Amoss has won with 19% of his runners this meet. Dark bay can be in good position from the start under Talamo, who has won with 16% of rides for Amoss in the past 60 days.

Race 8

#5 Letruska (9-2) gave way badly after setting solid fractions when tried on turf at this distance in her latest at Gulfstream in late-December. Daughter of Super Saver is unbeaten in seven starts on dirt and trainer Gutierrez won with two of his last four runners that had not raced for 90 days or more. 4-year-old figures to be in front early and the one to catch with Santana in the irons.
