There’s no denying that the New York Jets are a better team this year than they were last year. However, they still need a quarterback that can deliver them a win late in a game. In our opinion, Mike White isn’t it, especially after his latest performance in week 13.
The Jets rallied back with their defense doing most of the work against Minnesota. However, White forced a ball to a double-covered receiver near the endzone. This resulted in an interception and the Minnesota Vikings winning the game.
This week, he’ll face a much tougher team than the Minnesota Vikings, especially on defense. The Buffalo Bills allow an average of 17.4 points per game, ranking fourth in the NFL. The Jets defense is pretty tough also and they came away with a win the last time they played Buffalo.
The Buffalo Bills lost to both the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. After their loss to the Vikings, however, they’ve won three straight games. Ranking third in the NFL, the Bills average 27.8 points per game. This offense needs to be at its best against the Jets this weekend.
The Jets defense has quite a few holes that were pointed out last weekend. When they played Minnesota, they gave up several big runs. The Bills have the eighth-best rushing game in the NFL and we expect a heavy dose of it.
The tough thing to call in this game is who will actually cover the spread. The last time these two teams played, the Jets came out on top. Remember that New York was at home the last time they faced the Bills.
The Buffalo Bills have a 6-5-1 record against the spread this season. Over their last six games, they’ve gone 2-4 against the spread. This is a large margin to cover and we think the Jets will keep it pretty close.
Final Score: 23-19 (Bills)
