Archived: 2018 Cy Young Odds

March 30, 2018

Las Vegas Westgate SuperBook is offering odds on which pitchers will win the 2018 Cy Young awards for the American League and National League.

Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians was the AL winner last season and he also won the award in 2014.

The SuperBook has him listed at a 5/2 betting choice to repeat but bettors should note that the American League hasn’t had a repeat winner since Pedro Martinez won in the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

In the National League, Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals won the 2017 Cy Young for the second year in a row and third in his career. He captured the AL Cy Young with the Detroit Tigers in 2013.

Scherzer became just the 10th pitcher to win the award in back-to-back seasons and 10th all-time to win it at least three times. Scherzer (9/4) is currently the second betting choice to win this season behind Clayton Kershaw (7/4) of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kershaw has also won the award three times, the last win coming in 2014.
